Bookkeeper / Office Assistant (Forest Grove)

Jobs in Portland: Fast growing manufacturing company in Forest Grove looking for a self motivated person with great organizational skills and attitude to assist in our accounting duties. Responsible for payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Performs other general office duties and assists with shipping, and customer service. Essential functions, duties, and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Maintains and tracks employee time records; organizes and process bi-monthly payroll. • Processes account receivables and accounts payables. • Understand and communicate company benefits. • Collects and distributes mail. • Answers phones and responds to inquiries. • Orders office and shipping supplies as necessary. • Maintains a neat and orderly office, organizes files and other document management requirements. • Ensures of accurate accounting records and generates accounting related reports. • Performs personnel administrative tasks, including coordinating the hiring process and conducting of new employee orientations. • Cultivates an environment of continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the main office. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Must be organized, self-motivated, a team player and able to perform with minimal supervision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education/Experience: Has a high school diploma and 2-4 years of related experience. Must be proficient in QuickBooks. Language Ability: Ability to read, write and understand English is required. Math Ability: Applies advanced mathematical concepts and general accounting methods. Reasoning Ability: Defines problems, collects data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Interprets a variety accounting related reports. Computer Skills: QuickBooks, Word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, E-mail, manufacturing, scanning and database software.
