We currently have an opening for a Water Resources / River Restoration Engineer in our Lake Oswego, Oregon office. We are looking for candidates with cross‐over professional skills and interests. The successful candidate will be actively integrated into HENDERSON's natural systems design‐build team and participate in the development and field implementation of our firm's designs. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a B.S. degree (M.S. degree preferred) in Hydraulic or Environmental Engineering from an ABET‐credited university, be (or be able to become) registered as a civil engineer in Oregon and Washington, with 3 years minimum experience in water resources / river restoration engineering. Prior professional experience must also include detailed natural‐system hydrologic and hydraulic engineering analysis, modeling, and design. HENDERSON's ideal candidate would have experience in several of the following; tidally‐influenced systems, fluvial geomorphology, natural‐channel stream design, bio‐engineering embankment‐stabilization, fish passage system design, culvert and closed conduit modeling, flood frequency modeling and analyses, stream restoration permitting experience with SLOPES, in‐stream habitat structure/engineered large wood design, instream grade control structures, stream restoration construction management/inspection, sediment transport, biotreatment swale system design, and land surveying principles and practices. Candidates shall be able to integrate well into multidisciplinary design projects and must have good verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be detail‐oriented, self‐motivated, and able to work well independently within a small, focused environmental services firm. Candidates with prior consulting experience, project management skills, positive client services attitude, and restoration construction experience preferred.
