Jobs in Portland: Job Description: Looking for an all around techy with emphasis on web technologies. Primary job functions will include software QA, web analytics and reporting, problem solving / tech support, pretty much whatever pops up. Flexibility and the willingness to learn is an absolute must. Essential Functions: 1. Act as point person for problems on the web sites for customer service and staff 2. Perform routine QA testing of web sites 3. Proof sites for typos, prices, logo, and product description accuracy 4. Use Google Analytics extensively to analyze conversion and bounce rates, and suggest solutions if needed 5. Reporting and analysis for special projects and trouble-shooting including A/B & multi-variant testing, weekly e-newsletter reports (open rate, unsubscribe rate, conversion rate and content analysis), home page reports for all 3 divisions each catalog cycle, and quarterly reports on web stats, featured content, new customer growth, and updates on any new web developments or promotions. Non-Essential Functions: 1. Take the lead on site audits and usability testing 2. Research and develop apps for knitting and quilting with the assistance of IT 3. Stay on top of web trends, work with IT to incorporate new features and web tools into the sites that improve customer experience and increase orders & revenue. After implementation, track their success 4. Project management for surveys, net promoter score results, and focus group analysis for all 3 divisions 5. Assist with the Knit Picks web site redesign in 2012 6. Other tasks & projects as assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Ability to multitask and self-motivate in a deadline driven environment • Very strong verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Ability to work in a collaborative, creative environment as a team player • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Experience with HTML/CSS • Proficiency in Google Analytics • Creativity and flexibility • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills Physical Requirements: • Sitting at a computer for up to 8 hours per day • Job may occasionally require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
